JCRM (the Japanese Committee for
Rock Mechanics) is the National group of Japan,
ISRM (the International Society for Rock Mechanics).
It was established in 1964 by researchers and engineers who
were the members of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers
(JSCE), the Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Japan
(currently, the Mining and Materials Processing Institute
of Japan (MMIJ)), the Japanese Society of Soil Mechanics
and Foundation Engieering (currently, the Japanese
Geotechninal Sociery (JGS)) and
the Society of
Materials Science, Japan (JSMS) to foster collaboration
between JCRM and ISRM in developing innovative solutions to
rock mechanics and rock engineering problems. |
